WHY PLAY LACROSSE?
Lacrosse is widely considered the “Fastest Sport on Two Feet'' and offers players an excellent opportunity to develop foundational athletic skills that will directly translate to other sports like hockey, soccer, and basketball. Lacrosse is a high-tempo and action-packed game played on a smaller soccer field, resulting in more time with the ball, more scoring, and fewer stoppages. Many NHL legends like Wayne Gretzky, John Tavares, and Steven Stamkos credit lacrosse with helping develop their hockey skills in the off-season and offer an alternative to year-round hockey or soccer.
Sixes Lacrosse in the OLYMPICS!
In 2023 the IOC approved Sixes Field Lacrosse as an official Olympic sport for the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics! This news is an incredible step for lacrosse on the global stage and will go a long way for the overall growth of the sport. While many countries play lacrosse worldwide, not many play lacrosse at the grassroots level which we are so lucky to have here in North America. The Sixes lacrosse format is a very approachable way to introduce the sport to new players worldwide, and with fewer rules to learn, the casual viewer will have a much easier time digesting the sport on TV.
