Through supportive community programs like Canadian Tire JumpStart, KidSport Canada, the Hockey Canada Assist Fund, and others, more financial assistance opportunities are available than ever before. These programs are vital to reducing financial barriers for children to participate, and provide thousands of children with access to sport each year.

The programs listed below are not exclusive and multiple grants are permitted per child.

Canadian Tire JumpStart
JumpStart provides Individual Child Grants of up to $600.00 per child to families who require financial assistance to get their kids into organized sport or physical activity. To be eligible for funding for one or more children, families must first meet specific financial criteria as per Revenue Canada’s Low-Income Cut-Offs (LICO) chart. KidSport Canada
KidSport provides grant funding of up to $250.00 per child to help cover registration and equipment-related costs for over 100 sports. Grants are available on a regional level, and for families that qualify for KidSport funding the grant will be sent directly to the organization. For more information on KidSport Canada, click here.

Hockey Canada Assist Fund
As a member of Hockey Canada, TOP Hockey players are eligible for up to $500.00 in financial assistance per child through the Hockey Canada Assist Fund to cover registration fees. Over $1 million is available on an annual basis, and financial eligibility for the Assist Fund is based on the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) guidelines from Statistics Canada. Ontario Sport Network
Ontario Sport Network (OSN) offers funding and grants for individuals and organizations to participate in youth sports programs across Ontario. Financial eligibility for OSN is based on the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) guidelines from Statistics Canada. For more information on the Ontario Sport Network, click here.
